Hello all,
I have a lightly used Index Basic-D Braille Printer. It prints 100 CPS and does not include USB functionality. However, if you want the printer to work with Windows 7, purchase a parallel to USB adapter and install Duxbury. Does not come with Duxbury, that is sold from someone else but not me. I am asking $500.00 for the printer. This includes all the necessary cords except for the parallel to USB adapter. Paper is included to get you started! Prints tactile graphics too.
This is a very low price. I will go to 400 dollars. Anyone interested?
Has anyone contacted you yet?
I am interested if know one else hasn't gon for it yet.
If you want to contact me, my email address is follisj1@hotmail.com
Hi,
Yes, I still have it, but my mom insists that it can be used with WindBraille on her computer and she never uses it. Plus, I don't need it anymore, so would love to sell. It is a V2 braille printer, weighs 18 pounds, and has built-in speech. Speech is hard to understand. Manufactured in Sweeden by Index Braille. Uses tractor-fed paper as well. Comes with paper, a parallel cable, a power cord, and, if desired, I can find an original manual for you. It definitely prints tactile graphics, but, Duxbury is really what you need with this printer to have it work well for you. It is 11-years-old but is very lightly used, and is worth about 750.00. I would let it go for 400 though. I need the money for a plane ticket.
Back In the day, it was worth 3000. Of course, now it is out dated in a way because you can't upgrade to true USB functionality as in plugging a USB cable into each end of the embosser.

I would love to have this thing. I'm very interested. I don't have the $400 right now but I will let you know. When I do.
And ym email is follisj1@hotmail.com
I've been searching for an embosser and I would most prefer one that does Doublesided simply because it doesn't waste as much paper. Have you ever tried to print graphics with the ting? I know what it sounds like when it prints regular text and its very fast. Its sounds cool. So I would be interested in what it sounds like when it prints graphics. Most embossers especially the ones from Enabling technolledgies sound funny and print slower when printing graphics. I'll see if I can find a manual on the internet.
